So Nashe who I discovered last week on the Afrobloggers challenge nominated me for the Liebster award. It’s a challenge that helps you discover new blogs. The rules are simple:

• Thank the Blogger who nominated you. Thanks again Nashe

• Answer the 11 questions given to you. We’re about to get into that.

• Nominate 11 Bloggers. I’ll do this at the end of the post.

• Notify your nominees once you have uploaded your post

What is your favorite book and why?

To Kill a Mockingbird. I love this book, I actually have two copies of it. It’s a beautiful story of a single father trying to raise his children as pure human beings in a world full of hate. It also explores issues of injustice, abuse, racism. I actually posted about it a few weeks ago. You can read that here.

What songs do I currently have on repeat?

I currently have Train’s “Save Me Francisco”on repeat. I’ve been at it for a couple of months now and it always gets me. Other songs that will always be on my playlist are here and my all time favourite albums are just here, waiting to be appreciated.

Which season [ Autumn, Spring, Summer or Winter ] best describes you?

I want to lie and say I am bright like summer or giddy like spring…I’m not. I told y’all I was an old lady trapped in this body. So I think I am autumn. I am not as cold as winter but I may surprise you with some warmth every now and then. But just as autumn symbolises change and growth and maturity, I think I’m at a point in my life where I am ready to embrace those.

In the event of an emergency home evacuation , what is the first item you grab?

My laptop., my entire life’s work is on there…but wait, I have backups. So maybe phone but that’s also backed up. So I guess my documents. The way my country is set up, I don’t think we have backup systems.

Which historical figures would you like to meet and why?

Ota Benga. Please google him. I would meet him and hug him and tell him I am sorry for how much the world failed him. And without being patronising, I would tell him he’s beautiful and not a freak of nature. I would then tell him that being a black boy was still a struggle. And lastly I would tell him that I wish his death meant more. That he died so that other black boys wouldn’t have to.

What makes a good blog?

Originality, Relatability, Consistency and Authenticity.

Back to the past or forward to the future?

To the future. Forward Ever.

Your dream Vacation?

Maasai Mara, Kenya where I can sleep in a hot air balloon. This was suggested to me at Sangani-Hlanganani four years ago and I still haven’t forgotten about it. One day is one day.

The greatest movie of all time?

TITANIC. I watch it twice every year because it’s just that good. Rich girl trying to find herself falls in love with a poor boy who has mastered the art of survival. How can you not stan? More of my favourite movies here

Wealth or Health?

It is through wealth that one affords a healthy lifestyle-Maya Angelou. Okay I’m lying about the Maya Angelou part but still.

Your proudest moment?

I’m proudest of my work honestly. I don’t take it for granted though. Very few people have had the opportunities that I have and I am grateful and proud to be doing what I love and getting paid for it.

And here we are at the end of the challenge, lets nominate some people.
Nashe Lee, Connie, Ben, Chree, Sefelepelo, Vicky, Abigaba, Miss Kay, Chypo, Winnie and Aphila.
Looking forward to your posts guys.
